With a decision from the Federal Communications Commission on how ultra wideband devices (UWB) will be deployed due out this fall, companies worried about UWB's interference risks are lobbying the agency to sway the final rules. The U.S. GPS Industry Council has been leading the charge to limit UWB's ability to get unrestricted access to spectrum. In a July 16 letter to the FCC, the group laid out rules it favors to circumscribe deployment of UWB devices.
