摘要

The dredging of contaminated sediment using clamshell buckets could rank as a preferred option if one were to adhere to established processes and procedures. Cable Arm has continued to meet its stated mission of minimizing re-suspension (turbidity) while maximizing load. The use of differential GPS and bucket-mounted sensors provides technical accuracy. Real time turbidity monitoring on the clamshell bucket and in the water column will supply data that can be used to ensure compliance with environmental performance standards. Customizing the clamshell bucket in order to meet site-specific conditions and interface with specialized equipment will ensure productivity. Training of operators and site personnel to follow low turbidity procedures and an approved dredge plan can ensure an environmentally safe and efficient project.
