摘要

The determination or the air permeability of paper used in the production of cigarettes plays an essential role in quality control and the development of new products, and is something that is of great importance for paper manufacturers and cigarette producers alike. The ISO 2965 standard specifies how air permeability is to be tested. The volume of the airflow that passes at a differential pressure of 1000 Pa between the top and bottom of the paper serves as the measured variable. The sample is clamped between the measuring surfaces of the measuring head and, using a pressure controller driven by a stepper motor, the volume flow is regulated so that the pressure sensor on the measuring head measures a differential pressure of 1000 Pa. Then the differential pressure over a calibrated laminar flow element is measured by an additional sensor to determine the volume flow that has been set.
