Kunming, close to the Yuxi headquarters of the Hongta Group, will be the setting for the next World Tobacco Symposium and Exhibition, scheduled for November. As is described here, Hongta is expanding far outside Yunnan province as it sets out its stall as one of China's three tobacco high-fliers that will compete with international groups as the full implications of China's WTO membership takes effect. This will be a truly international event in every sense.
