Nevirapine belongs to a class of medications called non-nucleoside reverse tran-scriptase inhibitors and is used in combination with other medications to treat HIV infection in patients with or without AIDS [101]. Use of this drug can lead to skin rash and/or liver toxicity in some of the HIV-infected patients [1,2] and the causes remain largely unknown.
