Admittedly, "Reynolds Number" is a rather dull subject. It is usually effective in glazing over the eyes of a class on flow measurement. In fact, I once found a piece of paper on which a seminar participant had written: "Reynolds number, Reynolds number. I wonder how many people in this room knows what the hell that is. As far as I know, it is the 75 stamped on my box of aluminum foil at home indicating the number of square feet in the roll." Let's take another look at this flow-measurement factor, which has largely been responsible for not using orifice metering for viscous liquids.
