The North American Natural Gas Pipeline Group (NANPG), a consortium of ExxonMobil, BP, and Philips, has awarded a series of conceptual engineering contracts to assess the feasibility of constructing a pipe line to deliver natural gas from Alaska's North Slope to Canada and the Lower 48 states.The contracts are for the engineering and evaluation of a new line for Prudhoe Bay to Alberta, Canada; a new line from Alberta to Chicago, Illinois; a North Slope gas treatment plant; and a natural gas liquids plant. This work will provide a basis for possible future FERC and Canadian National Energy Board permit applications.
