Local distribution companies are bearing the brunt of consumer distress brought on by substantial increases in natural gas prices during the 2000-2001 winter.Because of the uptick, industry deregulation, underway at varying rates around the country, is drawing a fresh, closer look from a more aroused group of gas consumers, particularly residential customers.In an exclusive interview with Pipe Line & Gas Industry magazine, D. N. (Nick) Rose, this year's American Gas Association chairman and president and chief executive officer of Questar Gas Co., Salt Lake City, Utah, discusses the industry's successes and the steps it is taking to meet concerns as consumers take a harder look at their gas supplies.
