NACE International has dedicated a new educational facility, known as the NACE Pipeline & Tank Tracking Field, it says will help improve field tools available to train and certify corrosion-control personnel in the pipe line and coatings industries.Using the facility, corrosion-maintenance personnel will learn the basics of applying cathodic protection (CP), an electrochemical method of preventing corrosion on buried pipe and underground storage tanks. The facility will have the capability to simulate conditions surrounding storage tanks in addition to buried pipe.
