Enbridge Gas New Brunswick is using directional drilling to expand its gas distribution pipe line system throughout the province of New Brunswick, Canada.Recent notables among these drills have been the Saint John River crossing, in Fredericton, which involved drilling more than 2,400 ft of six-inch steel pipe under the river; and a 568-ft drill of 4 and 6-in. polyethylene (PE) pipe, under Wheeler Boulevard in Moncton.These drills are part of a larger project to install some 48 mi of steel and 20 mi of PE gas mains, with 4, 6 and 8-in. diameters, for residential service in Saint John, St. George, Moncton, Fredericton and Ormocto, New Brunswick.
