There are few sights more beautiful than that of a butterfly flitting gracefully from flower to flower sipping nectar. In fact, we became so enthralled by their winged beauty that we began a project to ensure our herb gardens and meadows were butterfly friendly. As we increased our knowledge we learned that butterflies are easily attracted as long as you provide the right conditions. Cold blooded creatures, they love to bask in the sun especially on moist banks where they absorb minerals from the soil. We were also delighted to learn that many of the herbs already growing in the garden such as dill, fennel, parsley and anise are as irresistible to butterflies as they are to us.
