This paper describes the NCSU-APHIS Plant Pest Forecasting (NAPPFAST) system, an internet system for the weather-based mapping of plant pathogens, its components (climate databases, biological templates, numerical output), the tools used for model and map creation, and model validation. Several prominent case studies (including soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrizi) and sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum)) are presented. Potential developments of the NAPPFAST system and its sister products used for survey, detection and eradication are mentioned..
