Today's session is unusual. Recently we have conducted at the Physical Sciences Division of the RAS a relatively large number of sessions commemorating centenaries of the births of outstanding Russian scientists. Today, however, Boris the plasma, n is the number density [1019 M-3], BT is the toroidal magnetic field [T], PH is the heating power [MW], M is the mass of ions measured in the proton mass, and k is the vertical elongation of the plasma column. ITER parameters allow TE to be around 4 s. Figure 5 gives an idea of the departure of real TE from this law in different tokamaks. Rounding off and neglecting power terms with exponents smaller than 0.2, this law can be written out in a simpler form.
