A field study on the effect of chemical pesticide Fosthiazate and Mocap against Columbia root-knot nematode on potato was conducted at the Parma Research and Extension Center, Parma, Idaho. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete blockdesign with five treatments including an untreated control each with five replications in a silt loam field with indigenous population (2500/cm3 soil) of Columbia root-nematode. Fosthiazate at different rates or Mocap were applied pre-plant on 29 Apr 10by using a handheld CO_2 powered plot sprayer and incorporated 6-8 in. Plant protection practices, weeding and other standard cultural practices were followed. Potato cv. Ranger Russet seed pieces were planted on 29 Apr. Tubers were hand-harvested fromall plots on 21 Sept. The tubers were graded and total and infected yield were recorded. Percentage of infected yield was calculated. Tukey's multiple-range test was used to separate the means.
