摘要

A compact dispersion relation is derived for the parametric instabilities of electromagnetic waves scattered off an ion acoustic surface wave whose frequencies are much smaller than the ion plasma frequency. The threshold for stimulated scattering is obtained and the wavelength regions over which the stimulated scattering is excited are determined. The present investigation should be useful in studying the nonlinear instabilities in surface-wave-sustained plasmas. [References: 14]
