A direct final rule authorizing the sale of 610 metric tons of the ozone-depleting fumigant methyl bromide from existing stockpiles was released by the Environmental Protection Agency Dec. 8 and is due to take effect Dec. 9.The action marks the second time EPA has issued the rule concerning critical use exemptions available to parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
