MISSOULA,Mont.-W.R.Grace Co.,the company facing criminal charges in connection with alleged asbestosis from its now-defunct vermicu-lite mine in Libby,Mont.,has asked for a change of venue for the trial,and the federal judge overseeing the case will hear arguments Dec.1( United States v.W.R.Grace,D.Mont.,No.CR 05-07,10/1/05).Grace filed the motion for a venue change Oct.1,claiming pre-trial publicity would make it too difficult to select a fair and impartial jury for the trial anywhere in Montana.Grace's motion states that "1,903 print articles,myriad television broadcasts,two documentary films and two books" over six years have "vilified and demonized the defendants."
