TAIPEI,Taiwan-A consortium of European researchers studying the dermal penetration of nano-sized titanium dioxide(TiO2)particles has found that the particles primarily remain on the top layers of skin and rarely reach vital tissue.The series of dermal penetration studies were conducted by eight primary researchers in six countries,Tilman Butz,consortium member and researcher with Universitat Leipzig in Germany,said Aug.29 at the Third International Symposium on Nanotechnology,Occupational and Environmental Health.
