Recovery in German E&E sector is gaining momentum/Business sentiment improving slightly at the end of Q1/Orders up/A-Plastixx E&E confirms upward trend/European market contracted by almost 22% in 2009
This year kicked off with a clear rise in order intake in the German E&E industry. In January, orders were up 10% year-on-year and in February even 21 %. Domestic customers ordered 25% more than last year and foreign orders were up 17%. "The recovery from the deep downturn in last year's crisis is ongoing," says Andreas Gontermann, chief economist at the German Electrical and Electronics Manufacturer Association (ZVEI, Frankfurt/Germany; www.zvei.org).
