The Department of Transportation is loosening requirements written in 2005 that say operators of master meter systems and petroleum gas systems have to have full public education programs, under a notice published in the Dec. 13 Federal Register (72 Fed. Reg. 70,808).The rule is being relaxed as it applies to master meter and petroleum gas system operators that distribute gas incidental to their main business.
