Chemours (Wilmington, Delaware / USA; www.chemours. com), the former DuPont Performance Chemicals business, has announced it will close its Edge Moor titanium dioxide (TiO2) plant situated outside Wilmington, Delaware / USA, as well as a third production line in New Johnsonville, Tennessee. The closures will remove around 150,000 t/y of capacity from the market. Chemours said the move will enhance production capabilities at its four other manufacturing plants and position it for growth in the TiO2 industry.
