Shear strength and long-lasting strength of glue lap joints made of Epidian 57 hardened with triethylenetetraamine (TETA)have been investigaged.Two ways of hardening were used:one-step hardening (7 days and nights at room temperature) and two-step hardening (12 hours at room temperature+6 hours at 80degC).Comparable shear strength of a glue hardened both ways ahs been stated (Table 1).Long-lasting strength of a two-step hardened glue appeared to be much better than of one-step hardened one (Gigs.5-9).Investigations showed little creep resistance of one-step hardened glue while two-sep hardening of a glue joint improves creep resistance significantly.It loks as if one-step hardening,recommended by producer,did not secure full hardening of Epidian 57 adhesive.
