Sometimes even the best wastewater treatment and reclamation facilities have issues that require a special solution. At the new water reclamation plant serving the Ak-Chin Indian Community in Maricopa, Ariz., hydrogen sulfide in the screenings room was causing serious corrosion in two rotary drum screens. A unique fogging technology from Parkson Corp. has balanced the pH in the room and resulted in a less corrosive atmosphere. It is the first corrosion control application of the technology, normally used to control H_2S odors and eliminate fats, oils, and grease.
