摘要

Isotactic poly-1-butene was melt blended with montmorillonite modified with di-methyl di-hydro-gentallow ammonium ion. Maleic anhydride grafted poly(propylene) or poly(ethylene-co-vinylace-tate) were used as compatibilizers. Thermal and fire retardant behavior of the polymer matrix were enhanced by the attitude of clay to form a thermally stable protecting physical barrier on the surface of the decomposing polymer material.
