Polyurethane dispersions (PUD) are widely used in the coatings field but not in fire resistant coatings, Alberdingk Boley has now developed a nanocomposite polyurethane dispersion that offers fire resistance as well as glass hard surface that offers a tool to formulate clear, waterbased fire resistant varnishes. Due to the high content of inorganic nanoparticles, this new class of polyurethane dispersions offers a variety of new and unusual properties.
