JUST when you thought there wasn't a reality TV angle that hadn't been explored, we may have discovered a new one here on our Illinois farm. Forget stranded survivors, executive wannabes or even single farmers looking for a wife. How about cows? That's right, bovines in the barn. Pregnant ones. Come on, what could be more exciting than watching a few heifers during calving season? OK, so the bovines may not be ready for high definition; but we've definitely figured out a way to make calving season easier. We affectionately call it the Cow Cam. A small camera mounted inside the barn sends a wireless signal 400 feet back up to the house, where it feeds into our television. Nobody can get away with nothin' around here anymore — not even in the barn.
