WOULD you like to stay in control of your own affairs, your own estate, and your own life as long as you are in your right mind? Would you like to assure that what you have goes to whom you want, the way you want, and when you want? Most people identify staying in control as a top priority when they talk about estate planning. Unfortunately, most farmers don't do all they could to maintain that control. It seems to me that the relationship you have with your estate planning professional may be to blame. In a nutshell: You give up control because your attorney charges by the hour. Let me explain.
