摘要

Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) has become a versatile method for the preparation of novel polymeric architectures via a radical process. The basic concept of ATRP relies on the reversible formation of a radical by atom transfer from an alkyl halide to a transition metal complex (Scheme 1). Through this reversible formation of active radicals from dormant alkyl halides, ATRP can control over many structural parameters, such as molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, chain end functionality, composition and topology.
