EU September deliveries slightly above 2007 level: Milk deliveries to EU dairies in seasonal decline, but just above 2007 level. Development across EU uneven. Volumes in first nine months up 0.8%, expected to rise from December. Growth rates dip slightly outside EU: In non-EU countries with expanding milk production growth rates weakened in autumn. Australian deliveries down for first time in 2008 in September. Higher milk product outputs: With more milk available outputs of WMP, cheese, butter up on2007.Milk product exports down: Exports of almost all milk products down in first nine months, but declines eased in September. More WMP than in 2007: WMP production 12.5% higher in January-September, growth rates weakened latterly. Prices also weakened but decline halted during November. SMP price sinks to intervention level: Production of SMP cut back further in September. Prices weakened sharply in October/November, to intervention level for food product, below it for feed product. Exports weaker since mid-year but trade picked up in September. Whey powder prices stabilise: Price decline for whey powder appears to have come to standstill. Prices for derivatives, lactose also weak. Casein prices weaken further: Casein prices fell during November to end 2006 level. US importing more.
