A new genus of mirine plant bug, Neolygopsis, is established for the new species, N. nakatai, recently found on Ishigaki Island of the Ryukyus, Japan. The genus is considered to be a relative taxon of Lygocoris Reuter 1877, based on the similar shape of the male genitalia.
