The efficacy of Treflan 480 (trifluralin), Treflan 480 + Olejan, Pronap 4000 (alachlor + trifluralin + clomazone), Teridox (dimethaclor) and Butisan (prynachlor) in controlling weeds infesting rape in pea-wheat-rape-wheat rotation system under ploughing tillage, no tillage or direct sowing was determined in a field experiment conducted in Poland during 2000-02. Direct sowing resulted in a higher crop yield under water shortage compared to ploughing. Pronap 400 and Treflan 480 provided the highest control of weeds in terms of weed number and weed dry matter, respectively, independent of tillage..
