Multifragmentation and a liquid-gas phase transition of a nuclear system are studied using AMD-MF (antisymmetrized molecular dynamics with momentum fluctuation). An accurate calculation of the Gogny interaction is made, and a good reproduction of isotopic binding energies is obtained. Though the system is small (A = 36), the multifragmentation system seems to exhibit liquid-like, mixed and gas-like configurations and a transition from a cold liquid-like phase to a gas phase is strongly dependent on the system radius, i.e, the density of the system. Unlike the calculation with the Volkov force, a clear indication of the decrease of temperature at the end of the liquid phase is not seen. Changes in the fragmentation channel as a function of the excitation energy exhibit good agreement with the result of the statistical model. The caloric curve of each cluster possesses a Fermi gas-like liquid phase that is followed by a constant temperature and a sharp increase of nuclear radii. [References: 29]
