Unifying weak chiral symmetry for gauge and Higgs interactions

Field theoretical formalism with generalized covariant derivatives containing gauge and Higgs fields is reconsidered in order to examine the possible existence of unrevealed symmetries. A two-storied spinor field with entries of left- and right-handed component fields affords a flexible freedom of extended chiral transformations, which are represented by 2 x 2 block matrices with coefficients of the Dirac matrices. A new type of extended chiral symmetry (a weak chiral symmetry) is found. This symmetry works to qualify a natural and reasonable unification of gauge and Higgs interactions. It is shown that the weak chiral symmetry described here as a global group can be interpreted as a local group with no additional gauge field. [References: 11]
