Anti inflammatory drugs such as aspirin may increase life of trans-planted organs like kidney, scientists have suggested on the basis of experiments which indicate that inflammation may be associated with the long term dysfunction of the grafted organs. Though kidney transplantation success, which is usually taken as the performance of the patients and grafted kidney at the end of one year, may be as high as 90-99 per cent, about half of the grafted kidneys are lost at the end of ten years. Dr. Zac Varghese, associate director. Renal Research Unit, Royal Free Hospital, London told the 7th Congress of the Asian Society of Transplantation.
