The 18 and 24 μm thick nickel coatings applied tobrass #JI62 were tested in containers simulating watertight andsplashproof instrument casings in regions with cold (Murmansk),temperate humid(Vladivos-tok), and warm humid(Batumi)climates. A visual estimate of the surface state was compared withthe corrosion weight loss. The lifetime of the coatings in shipinstruments was assessed.
