The experiences of implementing quality management practices such as total quality management (TQM) and ISO 9000 standards in the Shanghai manufacturing industries are briefed. A questionnaire survey based n the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award criteria is conducted to this effect, and the survey results are presented. The survey findings are helpful in determining various conclusions with regard to various dimensions of quality management practices considered and their effect on the business results. (18 refs.)
