摘要

To come out of crisis after the World War II,Japan initiated the quality control circles (QCC).Gradually,the QCC movement has taken shape into Japan's total quality management (TQM).The increasing benefits experienced by Japan has attracted countries across the world either to implement the practices such as QCC and TQM,or to develop various quality improvement practices.In the quality improvement arena,various practices that have taken root across the world are discussed.The degree of adoption of these practices in the selected Asian countries is studied and the responses of these countries in adopting various quality management practices are compared.(61 refs.)
