摘要

This article consists of the description of Taguchi's parameter designs method and an overview of some of its limitations. The authors proposed cross-product arrays to estimate the influence of the control factors on the effects of the noise factors, rather than using the S/N ratio as a response. The authors advocate their approach provides much additional useful information, and it does not require more experiments than Taguchi's method. The authors demonstrated one example from the literature is reanalyzed and illustrated some of the advantages of the proposed approach. (8 refs.)
