It is discussed about the importance of implementing various approaches to improve the performance of an enterprise towards the objectives set by it. In order to minimize the gap between the results achieved and the objectives set in, more effective and meaningful methodology is found to be useful. In this regard, it is observed that an enterprise engineering method called Integrated Enterprise modeling (IEM) coupled with Six Sigma approach is proposed. This approach identifies the factors that influence the performance of the enterprise and measures the results emerging out of implementing these factors. These results are then compared with the objectives set by the enterprise to determine the gap so as to find alternative factors to minimize the gap. (4 refs.)
