摘要

The importance of IT services has necessitated the need for standardization of service industry. IT oriented services are to be secure, effective and efficient from the customer's point of view. To meet this need Information Technology service Management (ITSM) has been designed and implemented. The most important development in this area is the publishing of ISO 20000 that defines an IT service management system. This article analyzes the standard, to determine its relevance, parallelisms, and the current certification level. The evolution of the model in future and its diffusion across the world in years to come, are studied using projection models meant for this purpose. (32 refs.)
