Some of the problems that rendered Excel 97, Excel 2000 and Excel 2002 unfit for use as a statistical package have been fixed in Excel 2003, but additionally errors were introduced. Excel 2003 is an improvement over previous versions, but not enough has been done that its use for statistical purposes can be recommended. (23 refs.) In 1998, McCullough (Ref. 1) proposed methodology for assessing the reliability of statistical software distributions. He used four suites of tests: univariate summary statistics, one-way ANOV A, linear regression, and nonlinear least squares. The author applied his methodology to Excel 91 and observed that Excel 97 was deficient in all three' areas and concluded that Excel should not be used for statistical analysis of data. They explained in this journal some errors are 'fixed' in less than acceptable ways. For this he used inverse normal distribution for Excel 9712000, XP and 2003. In this paper, the authors obtained the reliability of Excel 2003 using the same methodology that they have employed previously.
