摘要

Supply chain quality management system is a system-based approach to process improvement that utilizes advantages of mutual linkages between suppliers and customers. Today, since many organizations are out sourcing part of their manufacturing activities, this approach is all the more relevant in maintaining quality and reducing cost. Two distinguished sides of this approach are operations management and supply chain management. Operations management focuses on improving internal processes using engineering-oriented quality approaches such as SQC and product design. The supply chain management, on the other hand, is employed to improve quality and service at optimum minimum cost. This paper examines how operations managers and supply chain managers emphasize on the Baldrige core values which can be considered as foundations of modern quality management. (74 refs.)
