Various acceptance sampling schemes available are discussed. A new sampling scheme called the 'conditional double sampling scheme' (CDSS) is developed by extending the idea of switching rules in the single sampling scheme introduced by Schilling (Ref.1). The operating procedures under CDSS are presented. A table for designing the CDSS indexed by various quality parameters is constructed and the guidelines for the usage of this table are also given.
