Implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in an organization is, in fact, a challenging activity. It is discussed about various factors that help for the successful implementation of TQM. However, commitment by each and e very employ of an organization plays a key role in the smooth transformation of the existing culture towards TQM culture. It is observed that leadership style of the people who led the teams from front is expected to play an important role in getting committed employees. Further, the fascinating benefits of TQM are suspected to be mediating the effects of leadership style on organizational commitment. Therefore, it is attempted to study empirically the relationship between leadership style, total quality management and organizational commitment. The survey data collected from high-tech industries in Taiwan and the outcomes from data analyses are discussed. (88 refs.)
