Purpose: To propose models for assessing the reliability function of nanocomponents. Summary: A nanocomponent is defined as a collection of atoms arranged to a specific design in order to achieve a desired function with acceptable performance and reliability. However, a nanocomponent can fail because its atoms rearrange and it becomes necessary to guarantee high reliability for advancement and utilization of nanocomponents due to the fact that they account for a high proportion of costs of newly designed nanosystems and multistage systems. By considering a nanocomponent with N atoms, statistical models are proposed based on the notion of copula that are used to describe the relationship between the atoms of a nanocomponent. These models are further used to construct a nanocomponent model in order to obtain reliability function of nanocomponent. (13 refs.)
