The five largest North American uncoated freesheet producers announced price increases for the second time this year on a wide range of printing,converting and value-added grades(excluding cut-size copy paper).International Paper,Weyerhaeuser,Domtar,Boise Cascade,and Georgia-Pacific have informed customers of increases of mainly 60/ton on commodity grades and 40/ton on some value-added grades effective with shipments anywhere from Mar.27 to Apr.3,according to industry contacts.The five producers represent about 73% of North American capacity,according to Pulp & Paper Week estimates.
