The US Dept of Commerce (DOC) last week added significant new import tariffs on coated freesheet (CFS) paper from China,Indonesia,and South Korea,assigning duties reaching as high as 117% that could start being collected by the end of this week.As a result,sources said,as much as 65% or 500,000 tons/yr of CFS sheets previously supplied to the US from Asia could be displaced.
