WestRock added a $50/ton coated recycled paperboard (CRB) price hike for August, and Graphic Packaging suddenly shut down its hybrid bleached thermo-mechanical and recycled paperboard mill in Jonquiere, QC, on July 13. WestRock, in a letter to customers dated July 9, said it will raise CRB $50/ton effective from Aug. 7-10, contacts said this week. Graphic Packaging on July 6 initiated the increase set for Aug. 7, followed by Paperworks on July 10, effective Aug. 10.
