Bucking the trend away from thermomechanical pulping (TMP) that was associated with high operating costs,Inland Empire Paper last week said it would spend more than 40 million to buy a TMP system for its Millwood,WA,newsprint mill.Inland's new TMP system is only the second to be installed in North America in the past decade,according to a Metso official.
