Georgia-Pacific (G-P) is set in an agreement to pay $750 million to International Paper (IP) in what would be G-P's third building products acquisition in five years. The deal is to close in the first quarter, with G-P gaining 16 Temple-Inland manufacturing facilities in eight states close to "five of the top 12 housing markets" in the USA, IP said yesterday. One third of the Temple-Inland building products sales were from lumber (through three quarters of 2011), 24% from particleboard and 21% from gypsum wallboard.
